Bio
In todays society, the urban music industry has become nothing more than flash visions of surgically enhanced women, designer jewels, cars and clothing paired with mind-numbing lyrics and basement beats as a backdrop. While the rap game has morphed into a mockery of what was once a platform of storytelling, a small few still hold true to hip-hops original creative structure lyrical flow and style. And, among the handful of emcees who respect the game as a form of art rather than a get rich quick scheme, theres a girl – who goes by first name only Siya.

Struggle is no stranger to this quick-witted emcee. Having wrestled with unfortunate circumstances through out her childhood, Siya found comfort in music from the early age of seven – using rhyme and rhythm to escape the hardships of being a witness to her mothers drug addiction. There were days and nights where hunger pains robbed a little girl of her youthful innocence worried about how and when she would eat. After years of enduring such strife, Siya was sent from California to Bedstuy, Brooklyn where she took residence with her Grandmother to whom she credits for raising her. Despite the rugged surroundings of the Eleanor Roosevelt housing projects, Siya did not fall prey to consequences of street life with the likes of many of her peers. Instead, she grew her craft of lyricism into a well-oiled machine, which eventually led her to the dirty South. After a short stint in Atlanta, Siya quickly grasped the attention of Atlantas grassroots, underground music scene regulars. Many college tours, showcases and talent shows later, Siya became increasingly popular and scored a number of opportunities which led her to perform alongside artists such as T.I., The Nappy Roots and WyClef Jean at the world famous B.B. Kings, as well as, snagging the position of opening talent for Fat Joe and Fabolous.

Although Hip Hop is a boys game by default, this female emcee is a force to be reckoned with! With some of the most hypnotic production as a soundtrack for her poetic justice, Siya delivers powerful punch lines and rhythm patterns that give todays bubblegum rappers a run for their money! Whether shes freestyling over dope beats or collabing with some of the most underrated production underdogs, this Bedstuy trendsetter has created a buzz amongst beats and lyrics heads across the nation with her lyrical wit and effortlessly nonchalant style of flow. Her skill is on par and has been recognized among some of the most promising up and coming artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Mickey Factz, B.O.B, Big Sean, Donnis, YELAWOLF, Colin Monroe and J.Cole and has shared the stage with many of the aforementioned.

As we watch the tragedy we call music today self-destruct, there is a hunger for a more, invested, honest, creative artist and Siya is at the forefront of the pioneers seeking to reconstruct the industry from the inside out with the boys in their game!
