Portion of Jacob (PoJ) is taking a creative angle that bases their musical themes on Biblical principles. However, this controversial hip-hop group doesn’t consider themselves a Christian hip-hop group in the generic sense rather as “Hebrew Hip-Hop”, The elders Ach Tsemach and Ach Nasaiah strive to follow the customs of the lost tribes of ancient Israel with cultural sounds and lyrics.
The introduction of their EP “Jacob’s Struggle” is the single “Genesis 1:29”. It features production by DJ Ben Vera and video by Rehab Music.

Bio
In a time in hip-hop where the all too familiar theme of money, hoes, cars and clothes has become painfully redundant—a void has been left open that fans are seeking to fill, and that musicians are afraid to cross ….enter PoJ.
An old-alliance renewed, Portion of Jacob (PoJ) took a creative angle that bases their musical themes on Biblical principles. However, they don’t consider themselves a Christian rap group in the generic sense. Ach Tsemach and Ach Nasaiah follow the customs of the lost tribes of Ancient Israel and in turn label their brand of hip hop as Hebrew Music. Whatever you call it, the battle of truth verses lies, good against evil, right or wrong is alive in every verse as described in their EP titled “Jacob’s Struggle”
The first fruits of their EP, “Genesis 1:29” features production by DJ Ben Vera on a bass heavy, sample laced rhythm with trumpets blaring in a quest to wake the spiritually asleep and lift energy with every hook. The visual provided by Ted D Bear of Rehab Muzik lands them in a post apocalyptic surrounding armed with only a joint and a 1611 King James Version Bible. It is a nod to a prophetic future and PoJ see as keys to survival in the last days.
According to the songs intro, PoJ was given “every green herb for meat”….and critics pose the question…”is it wrong to make music promoting marijuana use with bible study?” Most answer definitely. Society still calls it a drug, but if you ask PoJ, “the media be telling lies”. Is it true “only God can judge”? For now – you decide.
