OK its official. Go get ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city.’ The leaked singles left a lot to live up to but Kendrck Lamar follows through with lyrics, content and substance throughout the project. Definitely a case of slipping the medicine in the candy, Kendrick is talking to this generation with brutal honesty – somehow it gets lost in the knocking beats and lyricism and style. Only criticism is that its too much sugar. This raises the bar for talking about something on tracks for widely popular artists – which is a good thing for hip-hop.
